Thinking outside the box and predicting what will emerge in the GLP-1 space this upcoming year
We all know GLP1's are here to stay, especially with the new daily pill forms coming to market in 2026. Allison and I have been talking to everyone from our doctors to dermatologists, we have been obsessively scanning ingredient labels, and tracking emerging brands all with the goal of finding the best support products for those of us on GLP-1s.
We have six predictions for 2026 that will change how we shop, eat, supplement, and dress while on a GLP1 Journey this year.
#1: THERE’S NO PROTEIN WITHOUT FIBER
The emergence of protein+fiber duo snacks
Health is all about finding foods, routines, and structures that support each other and support you. In 2026, look for snacks and foods with ingredients that work together, like protein and fiber. These products help you stay full longer, support your gut health, and actually work WITH your GLP-1 medication instead of against it.
While protein still remains a hot topic in the health and wellness space, this year fibermaxxing became a leading movement on TikTok. Alone, both nutrients benefit our diet, but together is when your body will really thank you. Products like Sleet Pops are leading the way, but expect to see this combo everywhere from breakfast bars to dinner sides. Major brands like PepsiCo are catching on, with their CEO declaring "fiber will be the next protein" as they launch products like Smartfood Fiber Pop with 6 grams of fiber and SunChips Fiber.
PROTEIN/FIBER DUOS:
-
Sleet Pops is leading the charge with 10g protein + 10g fiber creamy and cool ice pops that actually taste like clouds and sunshine, not cardboard
-
Crisp Power launched "first-of-its-kind macro" pretzels with 28g plant protein and 12g fiber
-
Lenny and Larry's Cookies pack in a good ratio of Protein and Fiber in each treat. with 16g protein and 10g fiber.
-
KaChava and Huel both come in with 6g fiber in each serving of their protein shakes.
#2 IT ALL STARTS WITH THE GUT
Gut health will receive more focus than ever before.
Gut health stops being a wellness buzzword and becomes a bigger foundational support strategy for GLP-1 users. Understanding the connection between GLP-1 medications and your gut is imperative for optimizing your health.
GLP-1 is actually a gut hormone. It's produced in your intestines by specialized cells when you eat. So when you're taking a GLP-1 medication, you're essentially amplifying what your gut already does naturally.
There is no "nature's Ozempic" but Akkermansia (also knows as AKK) is known to naturally increase GLP-1 production in your body, strengthen your gut lining, and support metabolic health. We see it as a "helper" not an alternative. We expect to see a lot more GLP1 focused AKK products coming to market in 2026.
Some of our current favs already on the market are:
-
Pendulum Akkermansia: 100M AFU live strain, recommended by 16,000+ medical professionals
-
Codeage GLP-1 Probiotic+: 500 million AFUs featuring Akkermansia, Clostridium butyricum, and Bifidobacterium infantis. They have a lot of other targeted GLP1 products we are looking forward to trying in 2026.
- UpNourish. A Prebiotic and Probiotic combo with 5 Billion AFUs of AKK.
Gut Health Home Testing we will try in 2026:
In order to take care of your gut, you must understand it first. At-home gut testing kits allow you to get to the core of your digestive system, figuring out what YOUR microbiome needs. At-home tests on the market are making it so much easier to learn about what's happening on the inside.
- Tiny Health Adult Gut Health Test for $249. Includes fungal, parasites and bacteria testing. A report with personalized tips arrives in 3-4 weeks.
- Viome Gut Intelligence Test: AI-powered analysis for $199 (when on sale), now includes food and supplement recommendations. They also offer a Full Body Intelligence Test which has our full attention. (stool, blood, saliva)
-
ZOE: Combines stool sample and meal tracking for personalized nutrition. A new kit and app are launching in 2026. We will keep an eye on this.
Side Note: I took a test a year before I started my GLP1 journey from BiomeFX but it requires a physician to order it. I'm looking forward to comparing my past results with the tests mentioned above.

#3: SIDE EFFECT SUPPORT GETS EASIER TO FIND
Bring on the dedicated sections at retail and online filtering for GLP consumers
We all want solutions that are easier to find, and products that we trust. Yes - at MyCompanionBox this is part of our mission, but this goes way further than us. We think that shopping for the products we need and want will become easier to find. Retailers will being to create dedicated sections and end caps, and online retailers will add "glp1" filters to make things SO MUCH EASIER!
While our fav Vitamin Shoppe and GNC's are already ahead on this trend, both in-stores and online - we expect mass retail to quickly follow behind. Walgreens and Wal-Mart, Kroger and Target - we are watching! Ya know what, when it comes to snacking convenience 7-Eleven and WaWa this goes for you too!
Within these curated dedicated shelf and online shopping filters. The product mix has a wide range but should include:
- Hair Loss
- Muscle Support
- Protein
- Fiber
- Gut Health (pre and probiotics / anti-nausea / constipation / heartburn)
- Overall Nutrient Support
- Energy / Sleep
- Hydration / Electrolytes
- Skin Care
- Etc
A note for brands - this is a big opportunity for you for double and triple facings and to make sure your products are double categorized for traditional support + support as it relates to GLP1 medication use. (wink wink)

#4: RESTAURANTS RESHAPE AND RESIZE
Snacks and meals will size match to our new ways of eating
- If you've been on GLP1's for any length of time, or your just getting started, one thing is the same for all of us... this is a new game of "less is more".
I'm going to be super honest here, I always take home half of my meal when we dine out but about 95% of the time it ends up in the trash 3 days later because Im just not that interested in it again. I feel awful about wasting food.
There is good news here, with so many Americans taking GLP1 Medications we are seeing the smaller portion options being printed on menus and not just the kids versions! We are also seeing protein and fiber and smaller portions getting featured in chain restaurants - these are all good indicators that we will see a lot more of this in 2026.
- Chipotle launched it's first ever "High Protein Menu" which includes a small cup of chicken or steak that clocks in at 32g of protein. We love this!
- Smoothie King comes in clutch with a whole GLP1 menu that prioritizes protein and fiber with no added sugar!
- Tucci, a Manhattan Fav hit the media air-waves hard in 2025 with their "Ozempic Size Menu" While I think it could have a more classy name - we love it!
- Cuba Libre (Philly, Orlando, DC, Atlantic city) announced their "GLP1 Wonderful Menu" this past fall. They teamed up with a weight-loss specialist to create it.
#5: SKIN THAT LOOKS AS GOOD AS YOU DO
There is no magic miracle yet, but science boundaries will continue to be pushed
Skincare brands are rushing to develop products specifically for "Ozempic face," while the dermatology community admits there's no magic serum yet. Collagen supplements will become as essential as protein powder, and the gap between topical solutions and actual results widens before it narrows.
Rapid weight loss means your skin can't keep up. When you lose subcutaneous fat (especially in your face), you lose the structural support that keeps skin looking plump and youthful. A clinical study found that GLP-1-induced weight loss has a greater effect on superficial fat pads, the ones responsible for producing collagen and elastin.
When speaking with my dermatologist she said she gets asked about the "magic serum" for GLP-1 face multiple times per week, and has to tell patients it doesn't exist. A solution that is available requires support for the skin from the inside. Collagen, vitamin C, zinc, and omega-3s are proven to support healthy, youthful looking skin. With the use of these supplements and topical treatments including retinol, bakuchiol, and hyaluronic acid, GLP-1 users can give their skin the boost it needs.
What's Coming:
-
Specialized GLP-1 skincare lines from established brands
-
More clinical trials specifically testing products on GLP-1 patient populations
-
Replenza is planning product extensions for collagen and skin-specific support

#6: WARDROBE RESET
Better shopping for your new adaptable and affordable wardrobe
Clothing swaps and resale platforms emerge as GLP-1 users cycle through sizes. Brands experiment with fit guarantee programs and size-exchange windows. But the push toward smaller sizes creates tension with body positivity movements and risks abandoning plus-size customers who still desperately need options.
As our bodies transform, so does our wardrobe. This is an expensive, time consuming and often frustrating ordeal. Exciting and scary, but there are solutions! Here is where we turn to the resale market. Poshmark reported a 103% increase in plus-size listings over two years, and a 78% increase in items with "weight loss" in the description. This year, we will see the increase in “resizing programs,” where stores allow customers to swap out their sizes as their bodies transform.
As our sizes get smaller, a tricky problem arises. Plus-size fashion had JUST started getting better, more options, better quality, thoughtful design, and now that progress is stalling. Brands are shifting production to smaller size runs, some are outsourcing their 5XL and 6XL production to third-party vendors, and in-store availability of extended sizes is shrinking.
As someone who spent 10 years hunting for clothes and often gave up, reverting to leggings and oversized tops, I can tell you: this is complicated. Yes, smaller sizes are exciting when you get there. But the industry's whiplash response risks erasing the progress made for the majority of American consumers (68-72%) who wear plus sizes.
The GLP-1 Fashion Boom:
-
Poshmark: 103% increase in plus-size listings (users selling gently worn clothes)
-
Universal Standard has a "Fit Liberty" program that allows you to exchange a size within one year. We love them and this brand promise! We hope to see more of this!
-
Thrifting. Thrifting. Thrifting.
- Stores like TJMaxx and Marshalls and Outlets become a hub for finding affordable fashion staples during transition periods.

At MyCompanionBox, we're building something specifically for this moment: a curated discovery box that delivers new and exciting support products at the right time in your journey.
We're watching every innovation, talking to every expert, and testing every product so you don't have to.
The GLP-1 revolution isn't slowing down. It's just getting started. And in 2026, we're all going to navigate it together.
